If you are a parent or carer with at least one child under 5 years old and are finding things tough for whatever reason, you can ask for help.  For a chat with us about what we can do for you, please give us a call on 01569 767773 or email with your number and we’ll get back to you.

It could be:

  • Loneliness/isolation or moving to a new area
  • Bereavement
  • Multiple births or several pre-school age children
  • Illness, disabilities or special needs
  • Relationship problems
  • Post-natal depression
  • First-time parenthood or lone parent

A Home-Start volunteer, who will be a parent themselves, will visit you once every week for a couple of hours, in your own home. Some of the things we might help you with are:

  • Transport for hospital appointments
  • Playing with the children
  • Accompanying mum on her first visit to the local Mother and Toddler group
  • ”Hands on” feeding, bathing and dressing babies, toddlers & twins
  • Support to use local services and resources
  • Taking children to the park to give mum a rest
  • Adult company, a listening ear and reassurance
  • Looking after children whilst mum attends an appointment
  • Just “being there” to help out
Home-Start support is free and confidential and personal information about you or your family will not be passed on to anyone outside Home-Start Kincardine without your consent unless there is concern about the safety or welfare of a child. You can choose whether or not to accept Home-Start help and can change your mind at any time.
